These are the elders in Soweto East Zone. We hold a testimony meeting once a month with them The AP's - two on right end - usually join us. Many of these elders were transferred but some of them went to Botswana to the new mission and we'll not see them again.
Elder Henerico is from Tanzania and has been very, very sick. He has Sicle Cell Anemia and was in the hospital for three weeks. He is recovering but needs to go to a warmer climate so will be transferred to the Durban mission in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, he's working in a threesome and is doing pretty well. He's quite a character - I don't know what the deal was with the hat but he wore it all night.
We had FHE at our house and stuffed 18 of us in for dinner (don't know why the Gublers aren't in the picture but they were there.) The Hymas and Jolleys left the next week and the Taylors and Gublers will be part of the new Botswana mission so it was kind of a farewell party. The Baxters just happened to be down from Nelspruit so we had a great crew.
Elder Shurtliff has been the AP for many months. He's a great young man but was put out in an area to finish the last part of his mission. We will miss him.
Elder Fackrell has been the third AP in training as he is headed for the new Botswana mission. He will do a great job for the new mission president up there.
Elder Sparks is from Plain City. He has always told us he'd love to work in the office. Well, he's getting his wish. They don't have another office couple for Botswana so he and Elder Lee will be working in the new Botswana mission office. He will do a great job.
I've been following Elder Purnell on the right(from Canada) since he was in the MTC. He's had some hard areas and companions but he's now with Elder Wilford and on his was to the new Botswana mission. He was very excited. These two will be powerful and I'm very happy for them - besides they're cute little buttons.
Elder Hansen is from Tremonton. He has been a Zone Leader and is not on his way to Botswana but home to Tremonton. He did a great job.

Well, it's been a long day - transfers start at 7 a.m. and we got home that night about 8 p.m. We will miss the elders that went home, and the elders who went to Botswana but those who went home had two good years, and those who went to Botswana are needed to build the new mission there.
